Marie Van Brittan Brown: 1922-1999 Marie was the first person to patent her closed- circuit television security system in 1966. She created the first home security system that allows you to access what goes on around your house through video. What her impact was on why she wanted to create this system to house holds around the world is her up bringing in the neighborhood which she grew up in. This shaped how we view home security systems today and opened opportunities for new systems to be used like the ring doorbell. This shows that no matter who you, her impact shaped the foundation on how we use security systems today.

Otis Boykin: 1920-1982 Boykin made a more accurate resistance value in our wiring systems that we use today. TV', PC's, and Radios are all examples of how what Boykin made more possible to move massive amounts to the modern world we live in today. His mother who died of heart failure was his motivation to create the pacemaker which is an implantable heart monitor used in health care today, also he couldn't afford to finish out his degree at Illinois Institute of Technology so it pushed him harder to achieve his goals. Even his modest upbringing did not impact his goals or inventions. A lot of impact has been made already on how we view African Americans in the world of technology today and people like Boykin made his impact even more massive on how we use these inventions today.
